1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Apeirogon ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with Apeirogon Studio (Sheets, Docs, and Slides) and related services (together, the "Services"). Apeirogon Studio is designed as local-first software: the files you create and the work you do stay on your device by default. This policy describes what limited information we do collect, and why.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not access, upload, or store the content of your documents, spreadsheets, presentations, or other files you create in Apeirogon Studio. We do not run your queries or content through any server, and we do not use your content to train any model. This is an architectural choice, not just a policy — the Software is built without a pipeline for it.

3. Information We Do Collect

We collect a limited set of information necessary to operate the Services: • Account information: name, email address, and billing details when you create an account or purchase a subscription. • License and activation data: a device identifier used to validate your license, so the Software knows it's authorized to run. • Basic diagnostic data: crash reports and error logs, which you can opt out of, used solely to fix bugs and improve stability. • Communications: information you provide when you contact support, such as your email and the content of your message.

4. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to: provide and maintain the Services; process payments and manage subscriptions; verify software licenses; respond to support requests; and improve the reliability and performance of the Software. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Payment Processing

Subscription payments are processed by a third-party payment processor (such as Stripe). We do not store your full payment card details on our own servers — that information is handled directly by our payment processor in accordance with its own privacy policy and applicable card industry standards.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the Services (such as payment processing, email delivery, or infrastructure hosting for our website and account systems), each bound by confidentiality obligations. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Apeirogon, our users, or the public.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Diagnostic logs, where enabled, are retained for a limited period before being deleted. Because your document content never reaches our servers, we have no copy of it to retain in the first place.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@apeirogon.ai and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect the account and billing information we do collect. Because your document content stays on your device by default, it is not exposed to the risks associated with centralized cloud storage of that content.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. International Users

If you use the Services from outside the country in which our servers or service providers are located, your account and billing information may be processed in a different country. We take steps to ensure that information transferred internationally is subject to appropriate safeguards.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date below and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
